Hi there and welcome to Kidanshi Creations Studio! All of my creations are handmade in Quebec, Canada. Here’s a little bit about me.

KIDANSHI – A Japanese word meaning, original, exclusive, out of the ordinary...get it? Yup, that’s me!

​

Art, in all its form, has always been part of my life since I was a child. I was never keen to the ‘established’ art courses that were given at a time where structure, discipline and rigorousness were the ‘in thing’ and imagination was a concept of some sort beyond ‘where no man has gone before’(yeah, I’m an unconditional Trekky’ (loll). So after painfully learning the ‘basics’ of it all and yes art classes included, I freed my imagination who went wild and then…magic happened!

 

Creating for me is as essential as water. I need to create in some shape or form. I am not always perfect at it, but art is the sum of imperfections, isn’t it? Well, I like to believe so!

 

My inspiration comes from the world that surrounds me. Japan has always fascinated me because of it's balance between modernism and tradition, just like my art.

 

I fetch my inspiration everywhere. It may be something I see while traveling, some sound that I hear in the distance, songs of whales or dolphins, sea waves breaking on the shore, my dogs wiggling tails or snoring while they daydream or simply sitting quietly in my art studio sipping my morning coffee looking outside, listening to the waking of the birds while a fawn is eating the fresh new moss or looking how my squirrels or tamias politely and in turn (yup !) let themselves eat the peanuts that I feed them.

Bonjour et bienvenue chez Kidanshi Créations Studio ! Toutes mes créations sont créées à la main au Québec, Canada. Voici un petit volet personnel.

KIDANSHI – Un mot japonais voulant dire exclusif, original, hors norme...vous pigez ? Ça c’est moi !

 

L’art sous toutes ses formes a toujours fait partie de ma vie aussi loin que je me souvienne. Je n’ai jamais été très emballée des cours d’art traditionnel qui étaient donnés à une époque où la structure, la discipline et la rigidité étaient ‘en vogue’ et l’imagination n’était qu’un concept abstrait ‘Là où l’homme n’est jamais allé’ ( oui, je suis une inconditionnelle de 'Star Trek'). Or donc, après avoir appris la ‘base’ de tout incluant les cours en art, j’ai laissé courir mon imagination jusqu’à…la magie !

Créer pour moi est aussi essentiel que l’eau. J’ai besoin de créer, peu importe. Je n’y suis pas experte, mais comme on dit souvent en art ‘c’est la somme de ses imperfections qui en fait une science parfaite’ !

 

Mon inspiration prend source dans le monde qui m’entoure lorsque je voyage par exemple. Le Japon m'a toujours fasciné ! Tout m'inspire ! Le son d'un train que j’entends au loin, le chant des baleines ou des dauphins, les vagues de la mer qui se cassent sur le sable du rivage, les queues de mes chiens qui bougent causées par le simple bonheur de leurs rêves ou lorsqu’ils ronflent dans leur sommeil profond ou simplement en sirotant un café dans mon studio tout en regardant un faon brouter la mousse fraiche du matin alors que mes écureuils et tamias passent poliment leurs tours aux arachides que je leur fournit tous les matins.!
